Welcome to the Town of Fairfax! Whether you are a long-time or new resident, a visitor, or doing business with our community, we welcome you and hope you will find this website a useful resource.

Town Center Workshop October 1st

This is the second in a series of three workshops for encouraging community participation in the creation of a Town Center Plan. Currently, there is no Town Center Plan.

The goal of this Workshop #2 is to receive the community’s input on the possible design concepts for Bolinas Road, the Parkade, and traffic circulation in the Town Center area. Please attend this workshop and bring your ideas for discussion and further exploration.

The to-be-developed Town Center Plan is not the Town Center Element. The Town Center Plan will basically be a long-term improvement plan for the downtown area.

The Town Center Element is a part of the General Plan and identifies guiding principles for the creation of a Town Center Plan. Background materials from the Town Center Element are available here.

Please take the online survey on this topic by clicking on the “Community Forum” link on this page. Survey results will be presented to the Town Council.

Downtown CH to CC Zoning Study Session Recap

On Sept. 7th the Town Council held a study session on the proposed draft ordinance recommended by the Planning Commission regarding changing existing Highway Commercial (CH) zones to Central Commercial (CC) zones. At the study session, the Council asked questions, discussed the issue, and considered public comment.

At the end of the study session, the Council referred additional policy questions to the Planning Commission for further discussion. The Council also requested a joint special meeting of the Planning Commission and Council, to be scheduled in 2017 to further discuss issues of mutual concern. Background materials
