Public Works Department

The Public Works Department has the overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the Town's Capital Improvement Program, maintenance of the street lighting and traffic signals, maintenance and repair of the Town's buildings and facilities, park maintenance, and management of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program.

Maintenance Requests Online

The Public Works Department uses an online service for maintenance requests. The link below will take you to a request form that you can fill out, then return to track the progress of your request. This system automatically sends an e-mail to the Director of Public Works and the maintenance staff which facilitates better efficiency in scheduling work. It also adds a new level of accountability since each request generates a unique tracking number.

FEMA Flood Information

The Town of Fairfax administers the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and the Community Rating System (CRS) Program for the areas within the Town.

Our Building Official (Mark Lockaby) can provide one-on-one information regarding the FEMA mapping of the Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA) at our Public Permit Counter, located at 142 Bolinas Road, or via phone at 415-458-2370. The Building Official is available to determine if your property is located in a Special Flood Hazard Area and answer questions about flood maps, flood zones, base flood elevations (BFE), flood protection, and flood insurance. Staff is also available to perform site visits and provide information on flood protection and reducing flood risk.
